Expense it to your training budget

Optivem Circle can be a work expense rather than an out-of-pocket cost. Here's everything you need to claim it.

You're sharpening the skills you use on the codebase you're responsible for, so this is legitimate professional development. An invoice you can submit to your employer is available on request, or write off as a business expense if you're an independent contractor.

The invoice

On request, we'll issue a clean, itemised invoice carrying your company name and VAT number — exactly what finance needs to process a reimbursement or expense it against an existing L&D / training budget. If you're an independent contractor, the same invoice supports a business-expense write-off. Need a PO number or specific billing details on the invoice? Just let us know.

Email your manager

Most companies already have a training budget — the hard part is just asking. Here's a ready-to-send note. Copy it, fill in the blanks, and forward it on.

Subject: Training request — Optivem Circle

Hi [manager],

I'd like to expense Optivem Circle — fortnightly live coaching with a senior engineer on the exact legacy-code problems slowing our delivery (TDD, ATDD, CI/CD, refactoring safely). I bring our real challenges to the calls and apply the guidance to our codebase between sessions.

It's €97/mo, cancel anytime — or €930/year, saving 20%. An invoice (company name + VAT) is available on request, clean to claim from our training budget. Happy to share what I work on after each session.

Thanks,
[your name]

Bringing several engineers?

Enrolling a few teammates gets a per-seat group discount that grows with the team, billed on a single company invoice. See the Group plan for the seat tiers, or book a call and we'll set it up.

Need dedicated calls on your own private codebase instead? That's Optivem Teams → teams.optivem.com.
